Heartland is a Canadian family drama television series which debuted on CBC on October 14, 2007. The series is based on the Heartland book series by Lauren Brooke. Heartland follows sisters Amy and Lou Fleming, their grandfather Jack Bartlett, and Ty Borden, through the highs and lows of life at the ranch. As of the episode shown on March 29, 2015, Heartland surpassed Street Legal as the longest-running one-hour scripted drama in the history of Canadian television. It celebrated its ten-year anniversary in 2016, and Season 10 began airing October 2, 2016. It was announced on March 22, 2017 that Heartland was renewed for Season 11. The season premiered on September 24, 2017. It was announced on April 26, 2018 that the show was renewed for a 12th season.

Entertainment One has released the first seven seasons of Heartland on DVD in Region 1 (Canada only). The standalone TV movie A Heartland Christmas was released on DVD in Canada on November 1, 2011 and in the USA on October 29, 2013. Season 8 was released in Canada on October 6, 2015. In Region 2, 4Digital Media has released the first 6 seasons on DVD in the UK. In Region 4, Season 1 and Season 2 Parts 1 and 2 have been released by Roadshow Home Video. Seasons 1-9 are available on Netflix and Hulu.
